The Winning Photo – POP Group #19

The record setting Class of 2017 took their first visits to the library as official Albright students during their orientation process on August 23rd, 2013. Pop groups methodically entered the library on scheduled time tables to receive their formal introduction with the library building and staff. The daily activities split the POP groups up into two different areas of the library where two different events were occurring. Upstairs, groups took POP team pictures with a cutout of the Albright Lion on a stick. At this time, the POP groups were informed about the Library’s challenge to the freshmen class – to take a picture with this Albright Lion cut out in interesting places on campus with the rest of their POP group. The winner received a movie gift basket stuffed with candy, popcorn, and a copy of The Lion King on DVD.

After the team pictures were complete, the groups moved back downstairs where they were shown an introductory video. The video informed the freshmen about the Library building and the services the Library provides. After the movie was finished, a few people stopped to take pictures with a life sized cutout of Sheldon from Big Bang Theory.

All in all, orientation at the Library was a huge success. Everyone on the Library staff is excited to get to know and work with the new Class of 2017! Welcome to Albright!
