Congratulations to Liz Eshelman, 2014 recipient of the Berks County Libraries Dreisbach Award. The Dreisbach Award represents Berks County Public Libraries’ highest achievement and is presented in recognition of exceptional long-term service.
Liz was recognized for shining as an example of high standards of professionalism, integrity, and kindness in a proclamation read by Ruth Perkins, library board of directors president. The proclamation was a tribute to Liz’s dedication to a life of giving and caring for libraries and the people whose lives she touched.
Liz is currently serving as secretary for Friends of the Berks County Public Libraries and also volunteers at the Reading Public Library and its branches as well as the Book Bonanza. Liz recently retired from Albright College after working as reference librarian at both Albright and Alvernia University for thirty years. Before Albright, she worked approximately 11 years on the board of the Mifflin Community Library and led two capital campaigns for the library.
Liz continues to be an amazing advocate for libraries and all of us at Albright College Library are thrilled that she has received the well-deserved award!
